From capturing pictures of Ska legends The Specials to seeing his film and images projected onto Arlington House as a part of the Margate Now pageant – 16 12 months previous photographer Sterling Chandler is taking the music and trend world by storm.
The Chatham & Clarendon sixth former, from Broadstairs, has already labored with impartial label PIAS and music firm Universal Music and is an envoy for People Dem Collective, which champions engagement and inclusion for Black, Brown and Diaspora communities – particularly within the media world.
Now the super-talented teenager has been the assistant director and behind the scenes photographer for a mini film collection for Dazed Magazine and Gucci.
The film, named Knotted Gold, was directed by Tom Dream and options British singer and poet Arlo Parks. It is a part of Absolute Beginners, a brief film collection which sees 9 artistic abilities do one thing they’ve by no means executed earlier than – get within the director’s seat.

Sterling mentioned: “Tom Dream and People Dem Collective had seen a few of my trend and music pictures, specifically of The Specials, and approached me to be the photographer for his or her ‘Black Dreams Matter’ mission in collaboration with musician Che Lingo earlier in the summertime.
